I cannot thank this garage enough for helping me out yesterday, after a scary and stressful journey from Birmingham, on the motorway and the realisation that my brakes were not functioning well at all and needing to get to an interview on time. I rang four garages for help, before discovering this little gem. Christine was so personable and despite them being full to capacity they pulled out the stops to get my car fixed, so I could return home safely. Chloe kept me briefed at all times, with full explanation of costs and checks made. The whole team there were so professional and even did 3 road tests to be double sure I’d be ok for our next long journey. I was so impressed that I’d almost consider driving here each time I need anything in the future – and making a day trip of it! The people of Winnersh are lucky to have such a great garage on their doorstep!! I don’t drive on motorways often and with road works where I live, I rarely reach high speeds. I had no idea there was a problem until travelling on an extended journey.
My car is now running better than it ever has and I now have an excuse to practice motorway driving again and come here again!

Cant recommend this place enough! Havent had my car long but had to get towed to MOT City by the breakdown service. Everyone was really nice on arrival and very helpful. I was told due to the amount of cars in it might not be until next week, but i got a call less than 24 hours later telling me the issues and the cost. Chloe was amazing and could feel my pain but made me feel better about the work needed and cant thank her enough! Kerry at reception was lovely as well and really helpful throughout, hopefully they never see me again but if needed i will be heading back there!

I was meant to be heading to a wedding when the mechanism controlling my window broke, meaning the window was stuck down on a cold and wet day. From the friendly receptionist welcome given by Kerry to the professional and personable Sean who said honestly what he felt the issue was with my vehicle and an approximate cost. Within a short period of time, I had a full itinerary, estimate and collection date given.
I have since taken my son’s vehicle there for an MOT and will be back shortly for a service for the next car. It’s hard not to want to stay and chat – I feel like we’ve been friends for years, I’m super grateful for a garage that is affordable and trustworthy and best of all on my doorstep! Great people! Kerry was so helpful and efficient. Called with an emergency on a Saturday, and even though they had closed, Kerry answered and did so much to help. When we got there, Shaun had stayed on to help and clearly explained the problem and the options. This evening just before garage closing, I stopped at MOT city as my tyre was showing low pressure. I had contacted 2 other local garages in Reading who offered no assistance shortly before closing time however, MOT city were friendly approachable and checked the air pressure in all my tyres.

I offered to pay as I live in London and simply appreciative to received this assistance. I offered to pay as a kind gesture but the owner refused.

From today’s experience, I would strongly recommend this garage to anyone in need of repairs, service or MOT!

Spontaneous support in the pouring rain for a “damsel in distress”!
Over from Germany last week I needed to have brake pads replaced fast to be able to return safely to the continent the following day.
After various other car mechanics / garages had either not reacted at all to telephone calls & emails or after diagnosing the problem been unable to provide any real help, I called MOT CITY in desperation. They managed to confirm the problem, get hold of the required parts and fit them, all within an hour, just before EOB.
A very fast diagnosis and professional assistance: they immediately got to work on my car … and a very friendly and reassuring team in the office.
Thank you to the whole MOT CITY Team! ( … have since driven over 1800 kms with no problems!)

Recommend highly! I had to get my MOT done that day and the lovely receptionist booked me in within 1hr. They saw me on time, but my MOT failed due to worn out tyres, they referred me to a tyre place and told me to come back within 1hr. I did so and they saw me again and carried the test out again. They were excellent and so friendly. The owner was fantastic.
Just to be clear I am a female and I did not feel uncomfortable at all!

I cannot start to praise the team as highly as I would like, we rocked in with a never seen before Ford KA and explained that due to personal circumstances with her driving instructor we needed this car to be and I quote MOT passed, warning lights fixed oh and the clutch is sticking……only to find out the last MOT was less than ‘honest’. Sean and the team worked tirelessly on the car in between my daughters prefixed driving lessons to correct everything in addition to changing the clutch servicing the car and my personal favorite servicing the air conditioning 😃. I really want to thank Sean and his engineering team. My car, VW Golf 4 is 20 years old, and without their fixing over a couple of years, including the MOT/full service, we can never feel so safe to drive this old, but solid car.

As a part of aging process, door lock, shock absorver, water jet and so on, there have been little or mid-size problems, but they always provided the precise information of what has been a problem, and suggested/performed just a right fix.

Every time I bring my car to the MOT city, it is transformed into a new car, getting closer and closer.

They’ve always done a great job, and never rip you off. Many times I’ve turned up with a manufacturer health check report, and MOT City have said the vast majority is not required, and then given me a better price for the important stuff.
