In 1995, Sean founded MOT City with a primary focus on MOT’s. He soon expanded the company to include servicing, repairs and full vehicle diagnostics, primarily due to customer demand. Expansion aside, Sean is still the main MOT Tester.
Sean’s ethos is to ensure that customers receive an exceptional service from start to finish. Customer retention is a priority and it’s vital that we deliver a high standard of care to our customers.
Christine is all things accounting and a huge part of MOT City, she has been with the Company since 1996. She is also the Company’s go to person for staff welfare including HR. Everyone loves Christine as she is also responsible for the payroll!
Michael has been with MOT City for 21 years, working his way up within the company. Michael is now a very experienced Service/Diagnostic Technician and Air-Conditioning Specialist. Michael is a multi-talented member of the team and you can be sure that if a rare or classic car comes into the workshop Michael will volunteer to take care of it!
On the 11th of December 2017 Nigel was awarded Technician of the Year at the inaugural Workshop Magazine Awards in central London, the award was presented by ex-Formula One driver Johnny Herbert, sponsored by the IGA (Independent Garage Association) and Snap-On tools.
Nigel is accredited by the IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) as a Light Vehicle Master Technician and has extensive knowledge and experience in fault finding Diagnostics.
I addition to this Nigel is a fully qualified MOT Tester.
We have been lucky enough to have had Nigel with us since 2007!
Chrissie has been with us for 15 years and tried to retire 3 years ago when Janice joined us. We wouldn’t let Chrissie retire so she works from home and assists Christine with the accounts, she is also credit control and sends out the MOT reminders.
Robert is another long standing member of MOT City having been with us for over 19 years. Robert has developed his skills over the years and has focused his enthusiasm on the welding side of the garage. He is our Specialist In House Welder/Fabricator.
Robert is also Service Technician and IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) Light Vehicle Brake Specialist and fully trained Air Conditioning Specialist. A hugely versatile member of the team.
Austin comes to us with a great skill set looking after many aspects of the garage, including assisting in Human Resources, Business Management and Quality Management.
Connor joined the team in 2008 as an MOT Assistant to Sean. Over the years he has progressed to become a Service Technician. Connor is also IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) Light Vehicle Brake Specialist and fully trained Air Conditioning Specialist.
Paul joined MOT City in February 2017 and has developed in to a valuable member of staff. His sense of humour and memory for all things music keeps the team smiling!
Aaron is an MOT assistant and is the cheery person most customers see when first dropping off their vehicles.
Aaron also has the difficult task of ensuring all cars are in the correct place for the workshop staff.
Ian has joined MOT City as our General Maintenance/Handyman. He comes with a wealth of experience and can turn his hand to anything that is asked.
Debs joined the team in August 2018 and is involved in day to day Garage Management, Health and Safety, IT and DVSA Legislation. Debs is also an experienced Service Advisor.

Bex joined the team in August 2020 and works alongside Debs as a Service Advisor looking after both customers and technicians alike
Laurie joined our team in August 2020. She shares her role with Julie as one of our reception team greeting customers, answering the phone and performing general admin duties.
Laurie comes to us with a wealth of customer service and from a sales background.

Sadly Motsie passed away in 2018. She was a well-known face around the garage and her tummy was tickled many times by customers and staff alike. When the sandwich van arrived and the horn was tooted we would always find her at the front of the queue!
We all miss her so much; RIP Motsie x
