Today MOT City were really able to help me out.
Called on a Monday morning after warning lights coming on the Sunday, and my usual garage were rude and unhelpful.
They had to call me back after checking the diary and asked me to bring my car down for a diagnostic, and were clear about costs. Made it clear they couldn’t promise when in the day my car would be done, but about an hour after dropping it in I was called with the problem, a quote, and a promise to do it today.
They were helpful, and clear about costs which is unusual for this industry and this time.

I took my Mercedes Citan Van there this week as the break pads were starting to make noise metal on metal, I need it to get it fixed quick as I wouldn’t be able to drive the van for work any longer. I took there based on the reviews I read online, I normally don’t write reviews, but I’m so happy with the experience I’m here to give a 5 start service for MOT City. I arrived about 3.30pm, there were very busy and said they would only have time in the following week, but in the end they managed to get it fix in the same day by 6pm. Great customer service, great mechanics and most importantly trustworthy. I left my van there with no worries that they would charge me with something I didn’t need, as it happens all the time in loads of garages everywhere. Nothing more important than having a mechanic you can trust. I’m new in the city, but MOT City has now 2 new customers, me and my wife.

At last found a good garage! I took my Toyota Yaris there, and asked them to check my MOT advisories from my last MOT.
They fix everything, that was necessary, professionally and on time, and also suggested me that some advisories do not need attention yet, instead of charging me for things with no reason.
So, I am convinced that the garage doesn’t try to charge people for things that aren’t needed. They also prepared my car on time we had agreed.
I would say that, a car mechanic has to be trustworthy and these guys are both trustworthy and professional. I never had the feeling they are avoiding to explain me their work and believe me their work is of a good quality.
Also the reception is very friendly, helpful and efficient. From booking in via phone or email, to dropping off and picking up my car, everything was great.

I normally use MOT City for my MOT and service. Recently my car broke down on the motorway and following assistance from the AA, I was able to limp the car to MOT city. When I called they were able to take my car at late notice which was a massive relief.
On arrival the AA driver spoke to Michael (Mikey) about the issue with my car. Michael was very professional and straight to the point; the AA driver later told me he was very impressed with his approach.
My car was touch and go as to wether it could be fixed due to the nature of the fault. However the same afternoon I was told that Michael could fix it and would have it ready the next morning.
A big thanks to Michael and the people at MOT for making a stressful day much easier.

I’ve been using MOT City for a few years now with two different vehicles and have always been impressed with their level of customer service. The first time I used them for anything other than an MOT they were able to diagnose a rough idle over the phone and booked me in to see what the issue was. I had some difficulty getting the car to them (engine died on me en route) and whilst I did get it there myself they also offered to come find me to help which I appreciated.
On my most recent visit they diagnosed an MOT failure, found a workaround and resolved it within 24 hours rather than the 72 they originally quoted (due to the heatwave). Additionally I had asked them to take a look at my DAB radio but once I explained the issue they advised that it wasn’t worth the additional cost to me for them to try and investigate what is an intermittent issue. The fact that they turned down the extra work (and money) really impressed me, as did the impressive turnaround time on the MOT.
A number of my colleagues use MOT City and I will continue to do so whilst living in the local area.

I am new to the town, my Mercedes E class was serviced by local HalfXXXs, there was a yellow enginer light and I requested for a diagnostic check and it was 50 pounds, the staff told me no check was done as they cannot locate the issue. >_<
Peers group recommended me to go for MOT city nearby and I just went for a trial, all the staff there are friendly and willing to share their thoughts to my questions even those they are busy. At the end, MOT city indentified the broken inflow pipe was a cause and get it replaced after 2 days when parts from Mercedes arrived.
Amazed by their professionalism and the response time, my car droped at 8am and a call was received for pick up at 10am !

Finally found a trusted garage! I took my Citroen C4 Picasso there for a full service and asked them to check an advisory item from my last MOT. They decided that the advisory thing was okay instead of suggesting me to change the things. So, I am convinced that the garage doesn’t try to charge people for things that aren’t needed to be changed. They also prepared my car at the exact time we had agreed. I will definitely use this place from now on.

Being new to the area, I was recommended MOT City by a work colleague. My vehicle had developed a gear problem.
The service was impeccable and the problem was fixed within a satisfactory timeframe given they had to order parts. Not only did they fix the gear problem, they also identified and offered to repair a rear spring problem which was not diagnosed by my previous mechanic despite me knowing there was a problem due to the ‘knocking’ sound.
Laurie (reception) was prompt and professional during all interactions and Deborah (technical) was thorough and patient whilst explaining problems with the car and relevant technical details.
Clean and tidy reception with all the compliant certificates clearly displayed.

Me and the Wife took a walk on Saturday 26th Feb and I realised needed to book my Car for MOT considering it was due on 5th feb.
I realised MOT City would be on the way where we walking so decided to pop in.
We walked in and immediatley I was intially greeted by one of the mechanics and told him my situation.
He informed me we should have space but ask the woman in there and pointed to me to reception. I walked in and the recptionist was on the phone.
within about a minute probably less then that the receptionist said won’t be a minute. She ended the call and apologised.
Then informed I was due my MOT and it will run out on the 5th March she duly booked me in for the 3rd.
But on 1st March I received a call from Rebecca that you had an empty MOT slot and would I be willing to come and drop the car off at 16:00 unfortunatley I could not do this due to work commitments but appreciated the call and glad you informed me of this.
I have just received my car back from you today 3rd March and I can not fault your service. Julie the receptionist is really friendly and Helpful and the calls received from Rebecca were friendly, corteous and informative.
I have already booked a Full service with you and my wifes car is due its MOT in a few months I will have no hesitation using your company again.

MOT City were fantastic! My car dealership garage had failed my MOT and were going to charge me an exorbitant amount and said it would take a week to make the repairs to pass the MOT. I phoned MOT City and they immediately offered to look at my car the next day for free, determined what the fault was and I booked it in for the works the following day at a 5th of the original cost, and it passed the MOT! My car was ready for me to pick up the same day too!

I just had my car MOTd by ‘MOT City’ and I must say I couldn’t be more pleased. From my call of enquiry to the completion of MOT the team was so professional, helpful and friendly. Shaun and Austin were great in terms of booking my car in at such short notice and then doing a great job. I was a little worried about the whole Corona Virus measures but the team kept 2m distance and when I collected my car I noticed they had used protective covers on the seats, wheel and gear stick etc. I was extremely comfortable driving it back home. Sean and the team are the best. I have been using their services for over 10 years an recommended them to many others. Great service including that checking with me that I actually want items, most recently a new rear windscreen motor. Value for Money is the only I can describe MOT CIty everything is transparent. The team are friendly and helpful and always happy to explain and show you what they mean “under the bonnet” why would you go anywhere else?

I started using this garage about 18 months ago after numerous incidents where other garages ‘pulled a fast one’ or let me down in some way. My first experience with MOT City was very positive – friendly, honest and educational about what they have done. I’ve carried on using them for both my and my wife’s cars ever since. After hours last night, I noticed that I had let my MOT lapse on a new car I’d bought(!) so left I message on the website to see if I could get it urgently booked in. Within 30 minutes, Sean had called me back and agreed to squeeze me in for both an MOT and full service TODAY! I’m delighted with these guys and know that, now I have the car on their books, I’ll never miss an MOT again as they always call with a friendly reminder. This is the first time I have ever left a review for a garage but after the last 24 hours I felt I had to. At 8pm last night we realized that the MOT on my daughters car had expired – right in the middle of her A-Levels. In a blind panic, and on a recommendation from a friend we mailed MOT City through their website asking about the possibility of an emergency MOT next day – we didn’t really have an confidence but just hoped. 10 minutes later, the owner, Sean, rang us explaining that he had read my email and was keen to help. He explained he had a slot free next day but couldn’t give me a time and that I should drop my car in next morning early and leave it with them. I did just that and later that day I had a phone call to tell me it was ready for collection and it had passed. Everyone I spoke to from the reception team, to the mechanics to Sean were friendly and helpful. I have never been to MOT City before and I contacted them on the off chance but I am so glad I did. We have 3 cars and these guys will be getting my business moving forward for MOTs and services where possible. I cannot thank Sean and all the team enough for their help and quickly calming what was a very stressful situation.

I’d have to say MOT City is hands down the best garage I’ve come across. All the staff are extremely welcoming and informative. Debs was just fantastic, keeping me in the loop and making sure I was comfortable with pricing before anything was set in stone. The mechanic whose name I unfortunately missed was very upfront and open about what will need to be done in the future on the car. Went in for a few repairs on the back of an MOT that the car had failed, they got those done and even squeezed me in for an MOT at the end of the day. I couldn’t recommend this place more. They all do a stellar job and I’ll definitely be coming back in the future. Wouldn’t go anywhere else now, would highly recommend them to anyone that wants their car to be looked after and respected as they should be, all the while being able put complete trust in a team of hard working and knowledgeable individuals.

A full service and some other work, charged a fair price for the work that was done. Advised on things that really should be done as they would fail an MOT, advised on things that will need doing in the future but not necessary now. All done in a decent time. My car is driving better than when I bought it (second hand) and I couldn’t be happier I feel I have found a good garage on this area

The ladies on reception are lovely and the mechanics are always very friendly and helpful, and you always feel like they are being very straight on what work needs to be done. The reason for the review now is that they went truly above expectations yesterday. Not only were they able to juggle things around to fit my car in at very short notice for a service and MOT but, given the snow, and the fact I was struggling to get the car down there they offered to come and collect it from home. I had to book a last minute MOT for my wife’s car and MOT city were the only mot centre prepared to squeeze us in. The staff were polite, clear about cost and super efficient with all paperwork and timings. The centre is extremely clean, tidy and professionally run. They were so good I booked in a service and also an MOT for my own car. Fantastically efficient service and a great team of staff. Highly recommended!!
