The legal requirement states that tyre tread must be at least 1.6mm deep across the central three-quarters of the tread in a continuous band around the circumference. It is important to check your tyre tread regularly, to ensure your car is safe on the road. As you can imagine, being badly worn or bald can present a serious risk and should be dealt with as soon as it’s discovered.

Generally you will get several years of service from a good quality set, but this can vary widely depending on personal use and the environment. It’s best to replace them every few years at least to make sure you’re always safe on the roads.
